So last night Bird and I went to see Sigur Ros at the Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego. Not a month earlier Tim and I saw Ruphus Wainwright and Ben Folds at the same venue. Ok, enough crazy links. Both shows were great. The Sigur Ros show was superb. The lighting effects were off the chain. The experiance sureal. A band called Klink opened up and also played strings for Sigur Ros. They played all sorts of crazo instruments. Including but not limited to a saw, crystal glasses, and a glockenschpel. I will forever remember the night, especially since a pig pulled me over and kicked my ace with citations. (By pig I mean a law enforcement agent, read on)
The guy pulls me over for turning right at a red light that allegedly had a sign telling me not to do that. The adrenline is surging through my vains, beings I know my car is still registered in Iowa when it should be registered in California. I couldn't lie to the porker, so I told him I had been living in California for a little while. We then began to have a long conversation about how I was basically driving without a license because I hadn't gotten a California one. Fortunatly Bird had a Cali license so the cop ONLY gave me a ticket with 4 citations on it (the forth of course being that I didn't have up to date proof of insurance) and told me I had to let Bird fly car. There were no nominal values assigned to these citations, apparently I just have to take off work and drive thirty miles to go to court. I hate the law, but I love music. Thanks Sigur Ros and Klink for salvaging a would be terrible evening.
