Last weekend Caleb, Tim, and I went to Joshua tree. Caleb flew into town for his spring break. It was a great week. At the end of Caleb's excursion we decided to camp at Joshua Tree for a couple days. A bunch of pictures were taken, and a good time was had. Here is a pic of the desert landscape, in pseudo 3D:
Hear what else had to happen...
The trip out to the park was a good one. We listened to Kings of Convenience way too much. I'd rather dance with you is just soooo damn good... "I'll make you laugh by acting like the guy who sings".
On our way into the park I came within 5 feet of serious accident. The car in-front of me wasn't so lucky. We simply drove around and continued on with our lives... Just before entering the park we decided it might be a good idea to have fire wood. Fortunately, Tim was savvy enough to create a hookup with some random at the local liquor store, free fire wood baby.
Upon entering the park a sign informed us of filled campgrounds. I thought nothing of it, and continued on. The guys convinced me to turn around and discuss the predicament with the park ranger, who happened to be (I'm sorry but it's true) a bitch. Tim later decided we should have asked the ranger if she "wanted to party with us". We never did, but we most certainly talked about it the entire weekend. We ended camping in the southern part of the park at Cottonwood Springs. It was a great time. Drunken neighbors talking about business until 2am, a couple of the worst nights sleep I've had in a while, and a fairly substantial amount of sun were only a few of the benefits. It will be pleasantly remembered.
